There’s a fair amount that’s been going on in my life, but my blog/website hasn’t reflected that “fair amount” — so I figured I’d do some housekeeping and bring those who care up to speed.

This drab default theme you see is only temporary — I am working on a new one, but the theme framework from which I develop my own designs, Hybrid, is not yet WordPress 3.0 compliant. I would expect everything to be wrapped up and looking oh-so-pretty within a week.

The employment that I lack seems to be temporary as well — I am currently in the interview process for two positions, and I’m feeling confident about my prospects.

Without going into too much detail, my life over the past few months was on a collision course. While all of us encounter some level of personal strife from time to time, I am not the type to speak up about my problems and am less inclined to seek help from my family and friends. This time, though, I did, perhaps because I had no choice, and the results are great so far — I am in a much happier, more focused “mental space” than I have been in a long time.

So, the state of things are pretty good right now, even if I’m a 27-year-old living in my aunt’s spare bedroom, thousands of miles from my closest friends. Those miles are semantical nothings when it comes to the binds that tie us together; you have kept me focused and saved me from myself more times than I care to admit. I love you; and thanks for loving me back.

My family is giving me the base level of support, but it is those aforementioned friends who will see me through to higher levels of happiness. (This makes me sound like I’m a Scientologist who is currently undergoing intense ‘auditing’, but I’m merely describing something that is personal and passionate in an impersonal and dispassionate way. I’m an operating thetan now, and I’m presently operating somewhere between I and II! Take that, Elron!)

Love, Matt
